The story of my Way2Birth
My wish of becoming a mother had always been there, since my childhood. In August 2021, while I was on family holidays in my home country, Spain, I discovered I was pregnant. I was extremely happy, and although it was quite soon, I inmediately revealed the good news to family and friends. I was afraid of giving birth but I somehow felt I could not share these feelings out there, because "I was a strong woman". I prepared myself in many ways, but the fear was still there.
Unfortunately the birth of my daughter in May 2022 and the postpartum period did not go as expected. Those fears became true. As a consequence, I suffered of a Post Traumatic Shock Syndrome (PTSS) and a Postpartum Depression (PPD). It took me months to recover from it and thanks to different therapies, I got to know about what doulas can mean for (future) parents. How bad that I didn't have a doula to support me during that period!
I started to put special attention into pregnant friends and mothers around me: I listened to their fears, helped them with their birth plans, looked for the right professionals for their cases, etc. They recieved from me some pieces of advise about pain management, postpartum tricks or I was simply a shoulder on which they could lean during difficult moments.
I learned from them and from my own story that the strength of mothers was also found in the vulnerability of needing help and a tribe.
In combination to my artistic and educational activities, (did I mentioned that I am musician and violin teacher?) helping other women became part of my life. Someone asked to me at some point: "Why don't you do this professionally?".
Yes... why not?!

And finally I transformed that passion into a bigger dream: in january 2024 I started my studies of doula in Het Holos Huis, Utrecht. Following this dream I contribute to the community by helping others to have the positive birth experience they deserve, guiding from tenderness, empathy and a holistic vision based in scientific evidence. Way2Birth was born!
I have developed my skills specializing myself in different aspects of the doula accompaniment:
